Growing Pains & Big Dreams: Our February Editor’s Letter

Hey there, Core family!
Last month, on my birthday, we celebrated 7,000 subscribers. Today, we've hit 14,000, and I'm still pinching myself. Thanks to you, The Core has become an important daily ritual, often scooping news before bigger outlets. Every late-night writing session is worth it when you tell me, "I saw it here first!"
You may have noticed some tweaks lately: I've added the "Beyond the Core" section (which you seem to love) for bonus content, plus a quick poll where you can share feedback.
I read every response and love how you rate the stories (or cringe)! Your insights helped me fine-tune The Core to feel more personal—not just another newsletter in your inbox.
Introducing Contributions
When you build something from scratch, the "Death Valley Curve" comes knocking: more subscribers mean more resources, more expenses, and that lovely stress of staying afloat.
I promised you that The Core would remain free and independent, so I'm introducing ways for anyone to contribute. Your support will help me keep delivering the best content and protect me from pressures, whether you're a Conservator, a Patreon, or "buy me a coffee." Don't worry if that's not your thing; your presence alone is my gift.
Plus, I'm excited to announce a referral program next week so you can invite friends who share your curiosity. You'll earn rewards while growing this community—because the best part of The Core has always been the people who read it (and occasionally roast me).
Thanks for making this newsletter what it is: a place where we learn something new daily and feel connected, even for five minutes. I’m grateful to have you here for the highs, the lows, and all the moments in between. Let’s keep exploring together.
With all my gratitude,
Fatih Taskiran
